Queen palm


Queen palm is very similar to Coconut palm. Queen palm was assigned the Cocos plumosa and only several years ago plant experts began referring to this beautiful palm as Syagrus romanzoffiana.
Queen palm is native to South America. In wild it occurs from Brazil to northerm Argentina. Nowdays it is widely planted as a landscape item in tropical and subtropical region. The palm tree is hardy only to 20 degrees and doesn't make a list of hardy palm trees.

Have you ever heard about a Jelly palm, other names for this palm are the Butia Capitata and the Pindo palm. This palm produces medium sized, bright orange, edible fruits which are often called pindo dates. The fruits of this palm can be used to make jellies and jams.
